A Reader's Ramble- Anna and the French Kiss

For this Reader's Ramble I will be reviewing Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins!

Page count- 372

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris - until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.
As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near - misses end with the French kiss Anna - and readers - have long awaited?

Plot- Like I said in my vlog in the post before this, this book was a really fun read. I love romance in any book, I love when they add it in along with the main plot, it keeps me interested. But, the thing about this book is that the main plot was ROMANCE! It kept my attention pretty much the whole novel, I found myself internally shouting at the characters to just KISS EACH OTHER ALREADY! The story was really relateable, the whole having a crush on someone thing, the friend drama, family issues, and all that jazz.

This is where my negatives are. A lot of the dialogue was really immature. Like she would do a lot of dialogue in ALL CAPITALS and she could sometimes do words like AAHHHHHHHHH or UGHHHH. Anna seemed to ramble a lot and I found myself skipping over some sentences or sometimes paragraphs. Other than those things, I really liked this story.

Setting- Paris, France, the most romantic city in the world! The perfect place for this totally romantic story to take place! I loved it.

Theme- I don't know, I never really thought about the theme of this novel. I'd say true love maybe?

Characters- I loved them all! I found them really realistic and funny.
Anna, the main character is just a really likable and relateable. Her problems could happen to any teen anywhere. I loved her voice and she was just an overall great character. Like I said above, she rambled some and some of her dialogue was immature. Nothing major though.

St. Clair *swoons* He is just the perfect guy for a romance novel like this! He has an English accent which is major attractive on guys and well he's a great character! Even though he is perfect on the outside, he has big problems like everyone else. The only thing I didn't like about him is that he needed to go after what he really wanted and he wouldn't do that. But, we all have our reasons.

Cover- The cover is actually why I decided to read this! I wasn't planning on ever reading this book, but then I was walking through Books-A-Million and noticed it on the shelf. It seemed pretty interesting so I decided to get it! The cover is cute, vibrant, and it caught my eye!

Overall- Overall, this was a good read. It was fun and was a great take on a classic teen romance. I found myself rooting for Anna all the way through and I felt her pain easily. Perkins did a great job connecting with the reader.
I give this book 5/5 stars! It isn't one of my favorites but it was a great read and I recommend it to you all!

I've heard of this one... it sounds interesting! I agree, romance is fantastic in a book. :) It's fun on the side, definitely... but it's also fun to have a book where the plot IS romance once in awhile! :D

I'm glad you enjoyed this!
