So, again for this edition I'll be doing the two characters from my newest novel, Fix You. They are Alice Meyers and Faye Roberts, who are both 17 and best friends.
Alice |
Faye |
Alice- She celebrates all the normal holidays, New years, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and such. She loves holidays.
Faye- Same as Alice.
2. What are they most thankful for?
Alice- She is most thankful for her best friend, Faye. Faye was the best friend she ever had and she was always there for her when she needed her. They had so much fun together and made so many memories. Alice will never forget Faye and is so grateful they became best friends. Later in the story, Alice is very thankful for her older sister, Morgan who really helps her out a lot in the current situation..
Faye-Faye is thankful for her family, home, and health. She appreciates them more than she could ever show. She also is very thankful for her best friend, Alice, for the same reasons.
3. Do they have any family traditions?
Alice- For Christmas, they always put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving. That is one of the few things that Alice, her sister, and dad actually do together. Then, as they buy the presents and wrap them, they put them under the tree before Christmas. It just adds to the excitement of opening the presents because you have to stare at them and aren't aloud to open them until December 25th! They have a nice dinner together at home.
Faye- Not really. They put their tree up like any normal family and get presents on Christmas day. They go over their relative's house for dinner that day.
4. What is their most memorable holiday memory?
Alice- Hers, unfortunately is the previous Christmas when her and her older sister, Morgan, got in a huge fight and didn't speak for months. It's a big, bad memory that will always be there with her.
Faye- When her parents surprised her and her little brother and got them a puppy for Christmas when Faye was 13.
5. What is the most memorable gift they have ever received?
Alice- For her, it used to be her cell phone, but now after Faye's death, it's the framed picture Faye gave her of both of them for one Christmas when they were in 8th grade, both 13, a year after they met.
Faye- Her puppy!
6. Do they consider it important to be with family during celebrations?
Alice- No, especially since her family is so broken.
Faye- Yes, it's a must. Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, and all!
7. Do they usually wait till the last minute to purchase gifts, or do they buy them ridiculously early?
Both of them get them early, they both love to Christmas shop!
8. Favorite Christmas song? For fantasy authors, is music a part of their celebration?
Alice- All I want for Christmas is you.
Faye- Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, DUH!
9. Do they celebrate for religious reasons?
Alice- No, her dad and sister do but she lost faith in God a long time ago, but will regain it soon.
Faye- Yes, she loves God and Jesus very much and knows that's the true meaning of Christmas.
10. How do they celebrate the beginning of the new year?
Alice- Goes to some kind of party and gets drunk.
Faye- Stays at home and watches the ball drop with her family on TV.

Awesome! I can't wait to read this novel after NaNoWriMo. Faye's whole Christmas celebration with the extended family sounds a lot like what we do. :) I can't wait for Christmas!
Hugs!
