Children's TV- Uhm, what happened?

Yes, I'm 16, a Junior in high school, and I still watch Disney, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network. Yes, I am not ashamed to say it, I love shows on those channels. My favorites that still air currently are Spongebob, ICarly, Victorious, Shake It Up, Good Luck Charlie, Fish Hooks, Tom and Jerry, Looney Toons, Regular Show, MAD,  & Adventure Time.

But other than those shows, the other shows kind of disgust me. They have become so stupid, annoying, repulsive, and just a waste of time.

Like these-

This show makes me want to rip my hair out and punch the TV. I've never actually watched a full episode. Seeing 5 minutes of it makes me go insane. It's the dumbest show on the face of the earth.

This is just stupid. Never watched a full episode. Seeing five minutes of it disgusts me.

Three words- What. The. Fudge. This is just an idiotic rip off of Jimmy Neutron WHICH was a great show, but this isn't.
Supah Ninjas and Power Rangers also seem pretty stupid, but I've never even seen any of either of them so I can't judge. Just the word SUPAH in the title makes it seem stupid.

Yeah, I'm using the word stupid a lot.
I could talk about Disney's Phineas and Ferb, and Fish Hooks, but those are actually good shows. Disney hasn't disappointed me with their cartoons. (Yet) Disney's So Random is pretty pointless though.

Cartoon Network on the other hand, a lot of shows would be named. Except for All the Looney Toons, Tom and Jerry, MAD, Regular Show, and Adventure Time.

Shows these days just embarrassing to me. If you're around my age, don't you remember the shows being so much better!?
People in society wonder.. "Why is the new generation so obtuse at times?"
MAYBE BECAUSE THE SHOWS THEY ARE WATCHING ARE SO STUPID IT KILLS THEIR BRAIN CELLS!
*Calms self.*

Dating in shows, oh my gosh. Little kids in like first grade are like I HAVE A BOYFRIEND! When I was in first grade, I still thought boys were disgusting.
Why is that?
Because the shows my generation watched as kids weren't as.. hmm.. what can I call it? Raunchy? Racy? Sexy? Inappropriate?

I like answering my own questions.

Here is a great example-

I love this show, I really do. But take a look at this that I heard from an episode-

Teddy (To father who is about to go on a date with the mother character)- Alight, you guys go ahead and have some fun tonight. But not too much fun, we have enough kids already.

And from another episode-
Mother (talking about her trip to a ski resort where her and her husband got married)- They said we were perfect for each other so, we did it!
Father( Quickly and nervously interrupting) Got married!

That was pretty much my face after I heard both of those lines on the show. They are clearly referencing to sex. IT'S DISNEY CHANNEL!

In every other show, like Shake it Up, ICarly, Victorious, Good Luck Charlie, and ANT Farm, there is dating and kissing. (ICarly people just LOVE to make out..)
It's a shame little kids are exposed to that every single day.

I mean sure, dating and crushes are fine. But does there have to be make out sessions on shows little kids watch? It's just totally uncalled for.

You know what were two great shows- The Amanda Show and Drake and Josh.
I wish those were still on. Those are classics.  You should definitely watch all these videos, they are hilarious. It's even more hilarious now that I'm older.

What planet are you from? FALSE!
I pretty much peed my pants on that whole part.

See? Why can't good shows like this come on kids' channels anymore?
I'm not saying all today's TV shows are bad, but you guys know what I mean.
What is your opinion? Did you pee your pants laughing at these videos? Let me know!

The Amanda show was awesome! It was a show I wish that would never end!

See, the whole thing with the sex referring thing In Disney shows is inappropriate. Like you Paige, I still watch it but because I don,t want to get caught up in all that stupid MTV stuff. I really do think that if Disney want to have things relating to sex, they need to make like a Teen Disney or something.

Now I agree with the whole iCarly thing too. That show has tons of make out scenes which caused me to think Nick is a less conservative channel than Disney. I have heard them use the words sexy and etc. on that show, but you know, half these days even 6th graders arne't virgins so I don't think it even matters anymore.

The reason this society is on such a huge downfall is because of how effective peoples personalities are.what I mean by this is like someone can have a really rude attitude toward adults and stuff and it can influence people to do the same. So now they think they can show disrespect to adults on T.V. but then in the end learn a lesson from it... But here's the catch. Kids don't learn a lesson these days by watching, they have to experience it.... And blah di da di blah blah...

Oh, well this seemed to turn into a long rant..

Ugh, I agree. The only shows I watched as a kid were The Powerpuff Girls. Now the only kids shows I watch are Adventure Time with my little brother. Honestly I think society is WAAAY to sex filled. Now first graders know what sex is. I didn't get it fully until 5th grade xD.

I know, WHAT HAPPENED to all of the old shows I loved???????? Even though I watch Good Luck Charlie, Spongebob, iCarly, Victorious, and ANT Farm, they replaced THE MOST AWESOME shows EVER like The Amanda Show (omg those clips brought back SOOO many memories,) Jimmy Neutron (grr...watched 2 minutes of Planet Sheen and turned it off,) some good old Disney shows like That's So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and best of all Drake and Josh (that was like my all time favorite show.) But Drake and Josh is on TeenNick. I would watch it but our cable doesn't have that channel :*(

The Amanda Show was EPIC!!!!! WHY did that EVER go off the air? :(

I am guilty of liking some of the shows on Cartoon Network and Disney Channel too. xD I like iCarly, but I'm not always able to watch it. :P Shake It Up and Good Luck Charlie are some of my favorites from Disney Channel, but even those have some..."innuendo" in them! XD I like on Cartoon Network (Star Wars The Clone Wars, obviously) but also Adventure Time, Regular Show, and the Looney Tunes Show. XD We also watch The Amazing World of Gumball, but I can only stomach Gumball for about one episode before my brain starts to melt. xD
I personally really don't like ANT Farm. :P I find it annoying, and China Anne McClain kinda irritates me for some reason. xD I REALLY love the old Disney Channel shows though, like the ORIGINAL Zack and Cody, and That's So Raven, and a few other original shows. ;)

This was a really good post Paige. I agree alot with what you said.
And the videos made my day. ;)

Totally agree with you.

On that new Disney show Jessie there's this one 4-year-old kid who actually knows what a bra is. *shakes fist* What's happened to innocent TV?

Haha, I never saw The Amanda Show... but those videos were pretty goofy! :)

Personally, as a kid I used to watch PBS Kids. Arthur, Cyberchase, Zoom!, Dragonfly TV, and so many more awesome shows. *sigh* Such childhood classics. ;)

But yeah, some shows are so ridiculous! Agh! I'm glad a bunch of the shows I used to watch on PBS still play. They were fantastic. :)
