Day two of the blog party over at The Cupcake Dictionary! I have to write a story about what it's like during a thunderstorm.
I awoke from a restless night, sweat dripping from my forehead. Nightmares filled my head throughout the night. My head fell into my hands, hoping the day would help me forget.
I glanced over to the window, and grey was only present. I jumped up from the sheets and opened the blinds. More grey met my eyes. Rain fell hard from the sky and pounded on the street below. Dark clouds loomed above, not allowing the sun to make an appearance. There would be no swimming today.
I grabbed my copy of The Book Thief and sulked into the living room. Rain pattered on the skylights above me. A giant roar of thunder filled my eardrums, then the entire sky lit up with a bolt of electricity which sent my dog running through the house, barking uncontrollably. I scooped her up and sat down by the window, watching the rain fall onto the street.
Drip, drop, drip, drop, boom.
The clouds and rain drops seemed to create a wondrous pattern. Maybe this day wouldn't be so bad after all.
For hours, I stared out the window watching the rain drip from the sky and listening to the thunder blast through the sky. And sometime's, a line of electricity would stretch through the sky, lighting up the whole show.
That's my little story, I just kind of winged it. It probably sucks but oh well. :)

Nice job with the story! I like all the description.
But hm... "The Book Thief"... what makes me think this is based on true events...? LOL ;)
That was just AWESOME!! You're such an amazing writing. I loved every word of it. Actually, I loved every letter of it. Actually, I love every virtual pixel-type-thingy that makes the letter of it. Yeah, that's it :P Love it, girlie :))
